Sign a petition to the Ontario Legislature
What is a petition?
Private members (i.e. those not in Cabinet) may petition the Ontario
Legislature on topics within the jurisdiction of the Government of Ontario. As
your MPP, I have used petitions to get action on some of the election commitments I
made. Our western Misissauga community's petitions have helped get us a new GO
Train station at Lisgar and a new wing to Credit Valley Hospital.
How to help Bob by signing and circulating a petition
- Download the petition, and print one or more copies on your printer.
Feel free to share or forward it to others;
- Sign the petition, and ask others to sign the
petition. Use only the downloaded copies of the petition. Don't worry
about sending our office lots of individual sheets;
- Mail the completed petition to Bob's Queen's Park office.

Send only the original, signed petition. Please don't fax the
petition, or send copies. The Clerk's table accepts only original, signed
copies (no white-outs) of the petition;
- Don't hang onto completed petitions and wait until you get more sheets.
Please send us the completed petitions as you get them back;
- Bob will read your petition in the Legislature, and if we know who sent
it, we'll read your name into Hansard as well.

Let's get Ontario prescription drug prices lower!
- Ontario patients, seniors and consumers pay far too much money for drugs. In many
cases, we pay several times what U.S. consumers pay. How would you like the price of
many of the drugs people need to drop by half? We can do it.

this web site.

Western Mississauga Ambulatory Surgery Centre
- Some three-quarters of all surgery performed doesn't need to be done in a
hospital operating room. Doing these minimally-invasive procedures in an
off-site facility frees up hospital operating rooms for more complex cases
and for those procedures that require pre-op, post-op or intensive care
unit support. And we can reduce wait times. Download it, and ask your friends
to sign it too.

Tax reform for a stronger Ontario
- Ontario has proposed comprehensive tax reform measures that will cut your personal
income taxes; double seniors' property tax credits; cut costs and taxes to
businesses and put some $4.3 billion of your own money
back in your pocket. Get these measures implemented. Sign this petition.

Improve access to trades and professions in Ontario
- Another success! Ontario's newcomers now have more help in converting their degrees, certifications and other
credentials to their Ontario equivalents and getting on with their working lives.
Bill 124, the Fair Access to Regulated Professions Act, 2006 will help by requiring Ontario's regulated professions to provide fair,
timely, cost-effective and transparent procedures to assist those who were
trained outside Ontario. The bill passed in December, 2006!

Capital improvements at Credit Valley Hospital
- On August 22, 2005, Bob Delaney announced
the Credit Valley Hospital had received the go-ahead to construct "A"
and "H" blocks, two new wings of the hospital to enable it to cope with
the needs of our community, and alleviate the waits in the emergency ward.

Ending Mandatory Retirement in the Province of Ontario
- Bill 211, now before the Ontario Legislature, proposes an end to
mandatory retirement, where it exists, in most circumstances in the Province
of Ontario.

Ban smoking in Ontario's enclosed public places
- The Government of Ontario has enacted Bill 164, to ban tobacco smoke
in Ontario's enclosed public places. Ontario's municipalities have long
asked the government to make the playing field level with regard to
smoking legislation, and Bill 164 did just that.

The Lisgar GO Train Station
- I don't need to read our Lisgar GO Train station petition any more,
as the project is now under construction, and will be complete by mid-2007. But
the petition did work. Read the text of

Access to Trades and Professions
- The Government of Ontario's
Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities has enacted numerous
measures to help foreign-trained newcomers to Canada gain access to
certification to re-start their careers in Canada.
Bob's successful petition was read by numerous MPPs, and kept up the pressure
on the Ministry to keep working on the issue and eventually enact Bill 124
to help those trained or experienced outside Canada to convert their
qualifications to their Canadian equivalents.

Support for anaphylactic students
- Bill 3 is a private members' bill by Brant MPP Dave Levac. It
received third reading and passage by a 75-0 vote in the Legislature on
May 16, 2005. Bob and his seatmate Kim Craitor (L, Niagara Falls)
helped Dave have the Minister of Education require
every school principal to have a school plan to deal with students
susceptible to anaphylactic shock from exposure to such substances as
peanuts. This is not an effort to ban, for example, such
substances as peanuts from schools. It is focused on having principals
gather and learn from experiences and best practices in other schools
and to be ready to deal with such incidents if and when they happen in
each school.
